Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to safely and properly operate all equipment including, but not limited to: push and riding mowers, weed eater, truck, snowblower, snowplow, snow and salt spreaders, forklift and aerial lift, ladders and scaffolding, and hand and power tools.
  • Mows lawns, trims weeds, and rakes leaves as assigned.
  • Trims bushes, shrubs, and hedges.
  • Applies fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
  • Picks up and removes trash prior to mowing a designated area.
  • Completes snow removal tasks such as plowing, shoveling sidewalks, steps, and doorways as needed during winter months.
  • Operates snowblower or snowplow to clear roads, driveways, and parking lots.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Empties trash and recycling containers.
  • Picks up and delivers supplies.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Requires valid driver’s license, excellent driving record and be cleared by ABC’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to work from written and verbal English language instruction.
  • Ability to write clearly in English language for others to read and understand.

The Building and Grounds Worker will perform must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb. You must also be able to reach above and below your shoulder and have fine finger manipulation. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Work is in an environment that is considered dusty and dirty. (Metal dust)

Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. In months of snow, schedule will be switched to 2nd shift, as assigned.  Work schedule may have extended hours and/or the requirement to perform weekend work when the need arises.

Starting Rate: $15.00 per hour. Plus .50 ¢ shift differential.
